Release Date: May 15, 2026

After having the opportunity to talk with Carly Razzi from Penns Woods Winery (PA) in last episode, Virginia and I also wanted to taste two of their wines and share them here with all of you. Both wines are Pennsylvania grown and Pennsylvania produced. Their winemaker, Davide, has done an excellent job on both and we’re excited to describe them for you here. They are both lovely examples of the quality wines produced outside of the Western U.S. Today, we’re tasting the 2024 Sauvignon Blanc and also the 2023 Pinot Noir. Cheers!

- Penns Woods Sauvignon Blanc: We tasted the 2024 vintage, but the 2025 vintage is currently on sale. The label on this wine is especially beautiful, and part of Penns Woods’ watercolor label series.
- Penns Woods 2023 Pinot Noir: We tasted the 2023 vintage on the podcast episode and this is the vintage that is currently for sale. For comparison to the mouthfeel changes we talked above, try the Chambourcin Reserve!
- We discussed the spectrum of aromas/flavors for wines produced in the Eastern/Midwestern/Southern parts of the United States. Please read this DGW Article, Are Eastern-Produced Wines a New World Style? for more information on this spectrum and how wines are stylistically classified.
