Let’s taste some aromatic white wines that are associated with Episode 8’s discussion! In today’s Wine Tasting Short, Virginia and Denise taste a 100% Albarino and a blend of several aromatic white wine varieties (Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Chardonnay). Plus, we brought in a comparison wine – which DG Winemaking did not consult on – an oak aged Chardonnay. We wanted to highlight the lovely nature of this Pennsylvania grown- and produced- oak-aged Chardonnay. Please enjoy the distinct characters associated with each wine we tasted. For more information on each wine, please visit the Show Notes at dgwinemaking.com under the “Podcast” tab.

- Wines from today’s tasting were from Cadenza Vineyards (Pennsylvania).
- These wines were tasted in relation to our discussion in Season 2, Episode 9: Same Grape, Different Story: Processing Your Way to a Distinct Aromatic White Wine. Denise’s work with the producer was to improve the aromatic/flavor varietal character associated with several of the white wines, which is discussed in more detail in Season 2, Episode 8’s show notes. Some of those varieties were used for white wine blends. Please note that we tasted the Chardonnay for contrast and in appreciation for the wine. However, DG Winemaking did not work on the 2023 Chardonnay with this producer; it is purely a reflection of the winemaker’s talent and brand.
