Plus, we’re sharing all of the details on how to make this lovely drink in your kitchen… all over on our show notes, which can be found at dgwinemaking.com/winelovers. Let’s sip and swirl together!

    • Ingredients:
      • 0.5 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice (0.5 oz.)
      • ¾ oz. Strawberry Simple Syrup (Equal Parts Water, Sugar, and Chopped Strawberries – Example Recipe)
      • ¾ oz. Lillet Rosé (Aromatized Wine)
      • 1.0 oz. Gin (can substitute with Vodka if you prefer)
      • 2.5 oz. Dry Rosé Wine (Jayme used The Storm Cellar “Rosé of Pinot Noir,” but also said “The Double Switchback” is also a good choice.)
      • Garnish: We used dried, edible flowers
    • Preparation:
      • Make your strawberry simple syrup. An example recipe is attached, above.
      • Taste your wine and make any tasting notes to ensure this is the right wine for this wine cocktail.
      • Squeeze lemons to get fresh juice!
        • Pro-Tip: Put your glass/coup into the fridge or freezer to pre-chill. This adds a great visual effect to the cocktail.
        • Pro-Tip: Add ingredients to your shaker before adding ice to avoid dilution.
        • Pro-Tip: Chill ingredients, especially if batching your wine cocktails. This helps to keep your cocktail cold while minimizing dilution from the ice.
      • Add lemon juice, strawberry simple syrup, Lillet Rosé, gin, and dry rosé wine to the cocktail shaker. Add ice into the shaker very carefully.
        • Pro-Tip: Use larger ice cubes if possible.
      • Shake the cocktail for about 10 seconds.
      • Straw test: taste the cocktail. If you need to make adjustments, make them to the shaker tin.Strain the cocktail into the glass. We used coup glasses for these cocktails.
      • Garnish with dried, edible flowers.
  • Extra Wine Cocktail with ingredients, above: Lillet Rosé, Club Soda, and Rocks equals a simple syrup
  • Pro-Tip: When batching cocktails that include sparkling wine or a bubbly component, save the bubbles until right before serving. You can pre-make the other components.
  • Pro-Tip: Store your leftover Lillet Rosé in the fridge after opening to keep it fresher longer.

We love to talk about tasting wine on this podcast. Please remember that our podcast is about wine appreciation and education, but that we both support and encourage responsible alcohol consumption. Additionally, both of us are winemaking professionals, so we do not get paid for tasting wine. All opinions expressed here on our podcast are those of ours alone.

Today’s episode is produced, researched, and hosted by both Denise Gardner and myself, Virginia Mitchell. If you enjoyed today’s episode, we’d love for you to subscribe to Voices of the Vine on your favorite podcast platform. Plus, listener reviews go a long way for podcasters. If you could leave us a review on your platform of choice, we’d truly appreciate it.

Thanks for listening.
